February 23, 2026 — Reliability on the sea bridge remains a top priority for Tobagonians. After weeks of limited service and growing frustration within the business community, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine has announced that the Blue Wave Harmony is officially scheduled to begin full commercial operations on March 1st.
The vessel, which has undergone extensive sea trials and technical assessments following a minor berthing incident in January, is expected to stabilize the movement of cargo and passengers between the islands. The Chief Secretary emphasized that the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) is prioritizing technical readiness to ensure there are no further interruptions to the supply chain.
In addition to the launch, the administration is reportedly developing a support plan for businesses and truckers who were hit hardest by the recent delays. This includes reviewing logistics and port efficiencies to prevent future bottlenecks.
Reporter Jewel Greene-George has the details on the vessel’s technical readiness and the Assembly’s plan to support the business community.
