TTPS WARNS DRIVERS OF FAKE SPEEDING TICKET SCAM AND

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), in coordination with the Ministry of Works and Transport and the Licensing AuthorityClick to open side panel for more information, has issued an urgent public advisory warning motorists against an aggressive SMS phishing (“smishing”) scam designed to trick drivers into paying fraudulent traffic citations.

The warning comes after hundreds of citizens across Trinidad and Tobago received unsolicited text messages alleging that their vehicles were captured committing speeding violations, demanding immediate payment via deceptive third-party web links under threat of severe penalties or court action.
