August 13, 2026 — Nineteen awards celebrating excellence, leadership, and innovation were handed out last evening as the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) hosted the 2026 Tobago Youth Awards at the Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort. The star-studded event showcased the depth of talent across the island, recognizing young trailblazers in sectors ranging from agriculture and media to entrepreneurship, performing arts, and community service.
Chief Secretary Farley Augustine delivered the feature address, urging young Tobagonians to broaden their horizons and challenge the status quo. Emphasizing the importance of bold leadership, Augustine challenged the youth to vie for the highest offices on the island, remarking that making a mark on the world stage “requires not knocking on the door, but kicking down the door to be in that room”.
