Yesterday, there was a global IT outage caused by an update by Crowdstrike, a global cybersecurity firm. This has affected airports, train stations, and banks around the world. The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) reported that they were affected; fortunately, the issue was resolved. T&TEC published a statement via their Facebook page informing customers that there was a disruption to its online payment platform due to the global IT outage, which affected Microsoft’s Windows. The issue has been resolved and customers can resume their payments.
