October 16, 2024 – Money already spent on covering some of the oil spill costs, along with outstanding bills, will be reimbursed by the International Oil Spill Pollution (IOPC) Fund. This was confirmed by Finance Minister Colm Imbert and Minister of Energy and Energy Industries Stuart Young during deliberations on the Tobago House of Assembly’s (THA) draft estimates for fiscal 2025 at the Standing Finance Committee of Parliament. This assurance provides much-needed financial relief for the island’s recovery efforts.
