Child Justice Unit encourage citizens to protect and defend the rights of children.
Every child has the right to be alive, to be cared for and looked after, and to be protected from violence, abuse and neglect, according to United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child. Unfortunately, as highlighted in recent reports, some children in Trinidad and Tobago are denied these rights. While the population has every right to be alarmed and shocked at certain reports, the Child Justice Unit of the Children’s Authority is encouraging the population to use the opportunity to look out for children being neglected and abused and make reports.
