July 2, 2026 — In an effort to boost morale and foster professional excellence across all operational ranks, the Tobago Division of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has officially launched a new monthly Police Merit Initiative, honouring seventeen outstanding police officers for exceptional performance, dedicated investigation work, and community service.
The merit programme comes during a demanding operational period for island law enforcement—characterized by heightened anti-crime operations, rapid grid patrol rollouts, and increased holiday event security. Divisional leadership emphasized that recognizing proactive crime prevention, rapid emergency response, and ethical public conduct is vital to maintaining high standards of integrity and motivating front-line personnel.
