June 17, 2026 — A new, locally-driven technological initiative is set to transform the transport and tourism sectors in Tobago. ‘TiGo,’ a homegrown rideshare service designed specifically for the island, is preparing for its official launch on July 3, 2026. The platform aims to bridge infrastructural connectivity gaps, cater to the island’s growing tourism market, and open fresh, flexible earning opportunities for local drivers.
Developed by local entrepreneurs to address long-standing public transit hurdles, TiGo offers on-demand ride booking via iOS and Android apps. The service will operate island-wide, connecting high-traffic hubs like the A.N.R. Robinson International Airport, Scarborough, and Pigeon Point, to rural communities across East Tobago, including Speyside and Charlotteville.
With tourism demand continuing to climb, stakeholders see the launch of TiGo as a vital step toward modernizing Tobago’s transit infrastructure and delivering a seamless commute experience for residents and international visitors alike.
