Suspect Escapes Police Hunt in Speyside, Gun and Ammunition Retrieved
Speyside, Tobago – January 2, 2025 – Around 11:30 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, officers patrolling Lucyvale Road in Speyside approached a man walking near the jetty. The man, dressed in a dark hoodie, long jeans, and a red ski mask, immediately fled southward.
As officers gave chase, a dark object fell from the man’s possession. They paused to recover the item before continuing their pursuit into a swampy area, where the suspect ultimately evaded capture. The recovered item was confirmed to be a Hi-Point 9mm firearm with the serial number P 079333. It was equipped with a magazine engraved with “RAH 9084102” and contained seven 9mm rounds. Investigations into this matter are ongoing.
