The Division of Infrastructure, Quarries, and Urban Development faced significant criticism as flooding continued in Crown Point, despite a $2 million investment in a drainage system. However, the Assistant Secretary in the Division and the Area Representative for Bon Accord/Crown Point Joel Sampson pointed out that the persistent flooding is due to specific infrastructure in the area but he explained that the water clears within twenty minutes after the rain stops.
