Christmas White Waste Collection

In preparation for the festive season, Charlotteville residents are gearing up to participate in a Christmas white waste cleanup led by Public Health Inspector Ricardo Bobb. Aligned with the mosquito eradication program, the initiative aims to curb the spread of the dengue virus. Scheduled to kick off on December 14th, the cleanup specifically focuses on disposing of old appliances such as fridges and stoves. Bobb emphasizes the importance of community collaboration, urging residents to assist each other in bringing out waste the day before the scheduled collection.

Despite a robust waste collection service in the region, Bobb notes instances of littering in Scarborough and emphasizes the need for a collective behavioral shift. He encourages residents to make use of available bins and dispose of waste responsibly. In a bid to foster community spirit, Bobb encourages residents to come together and facilitate the cleanup process.

As the cleanup initiative approaches, Bobb remains optimistic that community participation will not only enhance cleanliness but also foster a sense of unity during the holiday season. The initiative also aligns with the THA’s efforts to host a competition for the best-looking community in Tobago.
