TPP Begins Election Campaigning

The Tobago People’s Party prepares to make announcements about the party and begin election campaigning on Sunday, 17th March

Speyside, Tobago – [Early 2024] – The Tobago People’s Party (TPP) is preparing to host its first official public meeting for the year this Sunday, signaling the early launch of their campaign for the upcoming General and Tobago House of Assembly (THA) elections.

Dr. Faith B. Yisrael, Deputy Chief Secretary and a prominent member of the party, confirmed that the TPP is strategically starting their election campaign ahead of schedule. The TPP, which was launched in August 2023, formed following a public disagreement between the political leader of the Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP) and Chief Secretary Farley Augustine. Augustine currently serves as the interim political leader of the TPP.

Dr. B. Yisrael explained that the party has been diligently working on building out its constitution and is actively preparing to host internal elections. The public meeting, a key step in their outreach, will occur in Speyside from 4 PM and will be carried live on Tobago Updates Television, ensuring wide accessibility for Tobagonians interested in the party’s platform and vision.

This meeting marks a significant move by the TPP to connect with constituents and solidify its presence ahead of crucial electoral contests in Tobago.
