Scarborough, Tobago – The Tobago House of Assembly Administrative Complex has been renamed the Hochoy Charles Administrative Complex. This significant tribute honors the island’s first Chief Secretary, a man who dedicated his life to improving Tobago.
Mr. Hochoy Charles, affectionately known as the “Heavy Roller,” became Tobago’s first Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly in 1996 under the National Alliance for Reconstruction (NAR). He was celebrated as a true patriot of Tobago and a strong advocate for the island’s autonomy. The renaming of the complex serves to memorialize his foundational contributions to Tobago’s governance and development.
