August 9, 2024 – The Environmental Management Authority (EMA) has issued a media release advising the public to stop indiscriminate dumping. The agency has received numerous reports of individuals illegally disposing of liquid waste material.
The EMA noted that people have been using unmarked road tanker wagons to illegally dispose of liquid waste material into watercourses and open land spaces in remote areas. The authority pointed out that such practices promote the spread of diseases and result in environmental degradation. The warning highlights the urgent need for proper waste disposal and environmental protection in Trinidad and Tobago.
