Scarborough, Tobago – The Office of the Chief Secretary is reporting that the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) has officially received the $50 million allocated by the central government in the mid-year review for oil spill-related expenses.
In a press release disseminated late Wednesday night, the THA confirmed that the funds were deposited into its account at 3:00 PM earlier in the day. The Chief Secretary stated that with the funds now secured, the THA will work as swiftly as possible to issue payments to service providers involved in the extensive oil spill cleanup efforts on the island.
