Scarborough, Tobago – Chief Secretary Farley Augustine reported that the entire Tobago House of Assembly (THA) spent $11.6 million on international travel over the past two years. During today’s plenary session, Minority Councillor Petal Daniel-Benoit questioned Augustine regarding the objectives and benefits of the THA’s overseas travels.
The inquiry specifically focused on justifying expenditures by THA officials during these international trips. This scrutiny highlights ongoing public interest in the allocation of government funds and the accountability of officials’ travel for Tobago’s development.
