TEMA Issues Urgent Warning: Caution Advised for Maritime Activities During Tobago Oil Spill Salvage

Scarborough, Tobago – April 8, 2024 – In response to the ongoing oil spill affecting Tobago’s coastline, a comprehensive salvaging strategy has been implemented to receive pumped cargo. This operation utilizes advanced anchoring methodologies to ensure the safety of support vessels involved in the recovery efforts.

As a result, the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) is informing and urgently urging all individuals engaged in maritime activities to exercise extreme caution in these areas. Salvaging work is actively underway by T&T Salvage and QT Environmental, specialized teams involved in the Tobago oil spill cleanup.
