Scarborough, Tobago – April 8, 2024 – In response to the ongoing oil spill affecting Tobago’s coastline, a comprehensive salvaging strategy has been implemented to receive pumped cargo. This operation utilizes advanced anchoring methodologies to ensure the safety of support vessels involved in the recovery efforts.

As a result, the Tobago Emergency Management Agency (TEMA) is informing and urgently urging all individuals engaged in maritime activities to exercise extreme caution in these areas. Salvaging work is actively underway by T&T Salvage and QT Environmental, specialized teams involved in the Tobago oil spill cleanup. This advisory is crucial for the safety of both responders and other marine traffic near the affected zones.
