On Thursday, October 24th, the NLCB Steelpan Buccaneers left the shores of Tobago to introduce our national instrument to Columbia. The introduction of the steelpan will be done through a workshop, cultural exchange and performance at their Green Moon Festival. In October 2022, a travel documentary was filmed in Tobago, by the Teleislas Channel, to showcase similarities between cultures across the Caribbean. The Buccaneers steel orchestra’s exceptional performance afforded them the opportunity to introduce the steelpan to San Andres Columbia. As part of the cultural exchange, two individuals will have the opportunity to come to Trinidad and Tobago in 2025 to experience panorama.
