Scarborough, Tobago – The “Sorrel & Things 2” event, a unique initiative uniting various divisions within the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), recently brought together staff and leadership for a special occasion. Pastor Terrance Baynes, Secretary for Community Development, Youth Development, and Sports, highlighted that the addition of Youth Development and Sport to his portfolio helped facilitate this collaborative event.
Javon De Santos Carrington expressed pride in the department for successfully hosting such an event.
Councillor Tashia Burris noted that while staff appreciation events typically occur in December, this was her first time experiencing this specific celebration. She commended the initiative, stating, “I appreciate the fact he’s having this kind of event to allow his staff to relax to unwind to celebrate their place in sports ’cause tourism beat them, so I’m happy to be invited to the party. As I said, it’s Christmas time, it’s a time to give back, and across the division, we are looking at different ways to show our appreciation to our staff for their hard work throughout the year.”
