Scarborough, Tobago – June 24, 2024 – “Another failure” was how Minority Leader Kelvon Morris described the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) budget presentation for fiscal 2025. Chief Secretary and Secretary of Finance, Trade, and the Economy Farley Augustine made a presentation of $3.956 billion at the Assembly Legislature today.
However, after hearing the presentation, which lasted more than three hours, Morris stated he has little hope that Augustine is effectively trying to turn around the economy of Tobago, which he believes has been suffering for the past few years. Morris’s strong criticism highlights ongoing concerns about the THA’s economic management and the perceived lack of a clear plan for Tobago’s economic recovery and development.
