Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – A year and a half after CARICOM hosted a conference addressing violence as a public health issue, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley reported significant progress. This morning at a CARICOM Regional Symposium in Georgetown, Guyana, he announced that legislation enabling the arrest of criminals across CARICOM member states is ready for implementation.
The Prime Minister also noted that other measures to combat inter-regional crime are nearing completion. His remarks highlight a concerted effort among CARICOM nations to strengthen security cooperation and create a unified front against criminal activity.
