Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – Former Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith asserts that a primary reason the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is struggling to effectively manage crime is its insufficient utilization of technology.
Griffith stated that during his tenure as top CoP, he introduced several mechanisms incorporating modern technology into the TTPS’s crime-fighting strategies. However, he noted that many of these technological advancements have since been dismantled. His comments underscore a concern about the current approach to leveraging technology in national security efforts against rising crime.
