Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago – Following the passage of Hurricane Beryl, which affected neighboring islands in Grenada and St. Vincent, there has been a significant outpouring of support. While this goodwill is deeply appreciated, the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) is advising the public on the most effective ways to contribute.
CDEMA urges the public to either adhere strictly to the officially published needs list for donated items or, alternatively, to consider making monetary donations. This guidance aims to ensure that aid aligns directly with the immediate and most critical requirements of the affected populations, allowing for flexibility and efficiency in purchasing necessary supplies and supporting recovery efforts.
