Lambeau, Tobago – February 15, 2024 – While significant progress is being made in the oil spill clean-up along other affected coastlines in Tobago, the village of Lambeau remains inundated. This persistent issue is causing considerable problems for the village’s vital fishing industry.
Consequently, fishermen in Lambeau are being advised to stay out of the water around their immediate area and to temporarily relocate their fish vending operations. This measure aims to mitigate the impact of the ongoing contamination on their livelihoods and ensure public safety regarding seafood. The continued inundation highlights the challenges in restoring normalcy to all areas affected by the Tobago oil spill.
