Community open land is being blocked off illegally in Sou Sou lands.
The New Grange area, also known as Sou Sou Lands, was established in the 1800s to provide land for those in need. Over the years, this purpose has waned due to a lack of organization. Today, Nelda Moore-Nana, a member of the New Grange Developers Cooperative board of directors, highlighted the illegal encroachment on a plot of land in “Green Belt.”- an area that is meant to remain open for the free movement of people in the community.
