Scarborough, Tobago – January 2024 – The Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development recently participated in a comprehensive two-day Integrated Wildlife Management Training, conducted by the Biodiversity Conservation and Agroecological Land Restoration of Productive Landscapes in Trinidad and Tobago (BIOREACH) Project.
The training featured esteemed international instructors: Mr. Thomas Anderson, International Forest Fire Specialist from the Food and Agricultural Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), and Mr. Blane Heumann of The Nature Conservancy.
The program encompassed both theoretical and practical aspects, commencing with a classroom session at the HR Conference Room on Monday, January 15th, followed by a vital field session at Courland on January 17th. Participants included Forest Officers and Game Wardens of the Division, members of the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service, representatives from the Tobago Reforestation and Watershed Rehabilitation Programme (TRWRP), and local hunters.
