Construction of new roundabout at Shirvan connector road (Dr. Winston Murray Boulevard) causes traffic pile-up.
Scarborough, Tobago – June 25, 2024 – A combination of heavy rain and ongoing road construction works caused major traffic disruption today at the Friendship Connector Road. Work is currently underway to construct a new roundabout, which has diverted traffic around the site, causing delays for motorists.
According to Chief Secretary Farley Augustine, during the reading of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) budget on Monday (June 24, 2024), this significant roundabout will be named after one of Tobago’s pioneers, Dr. Winston Murray. The new Dr. Winston Murray Boulevard aims to enhance traffic flow and commemorate a key figure in Tobago’s history, even as the construction temporarily impacts local commuters.
