PDP Leader Watson Duke says Tobago’s relationship with Trinidad must change before being able to define boundaries.

Scarborough, Tobago – June 25, 2024 – Chief Secretary Farley Augustine today declared that defining Tobago’s boundaries is non-negotiable for increasing the island’s autonomy. He made this firm statement during his budget presentation in the Assembly Legislature on Monday (June 24, 2024).

However, speaking at a press conference, Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP) political leader Watson Duke accused Augustine of not understanding the current constitutional arrangements, which he claims prevent such boundary delineation from happening. This ongoing debate highlights a critical point of contention in Tobago’s push for greater self-governance and control over its territory.
