Division of Settlements, Public Utilities, and Rural Development begins construction social affordable housing units in Blenheim
Construction of the first phase of a program to provide Social Affordable Housing Units has begun.
The project is being undertaken by the Division of Settlements, Public Utilities, and Rural Development in the Heights of Blemhiem. Secretary Ian Pollard was on the scene as the land was being cleared to make way for construction.
The construction contract was awarded to EJ Enterprises Ltd, and Secretary Pollard expects that within thirty-five days, the first home will be ready. Families have already been selected to occupy the homes upon completion. This is the first project of its kind to be executed by the Division, aiming to provide affordable housing for Tobagonians in need.
