Chief Secretary Farley Augustine has accepted an invitation from Prime Minister Keith Rowley to attend a National Security Council meeting in Tobago on July 9, 2024. This follows Augustine’s January request to discuss rising crime rates on the island. The Chief Secretary is grateful for the privilege of being invited to the meeting, adding that the matter of crime affects all members of the society. He emphasized the need for unity in combating crime, regardless of political beliefs.
