Scarborough, Tobago – June 24, 2024 – After receiving criticism from Minority Leader Kelvon Morris and Assemblyman Watson Duke regarding the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) budget, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine today publicly defended his argument for the central government to grant the THA 5.8% of the national budget.
Speaking to the media, he explained that it is a logical request, one which he decided upon after some introspection. Chief Secretary Augustine’s defense highlights his conviction that this percentage is fair and justified for Tobago’s development and its share of national resources, despite the opposition’s critiques of the proposed budget.
