The central government has given the Tobago House of Assembly an additional 50 million dollar budget to facilitate oil spill cleanup costs. However, the THA initially asked for a further 153 million. The political leader of the Innovative Democratic Alliance, Dr Denise Tsoiafatt-Angus, said that the 50 million dollar budget was short-sighted, listing her reasons for this description.
