St. Andrew’s Anglican Primary School continues to remain closed, unable to fully reopen due to persistent rat infestations and other critical infrastructural issues. This ongoing situation has drawn concern from educational stakeholders on the island.
In a recent update, Bradon Roberts, the Tobago Officer President of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association (TTUTA), indicated that these problems should have been resolved by now. Roberts stated he is aware of a draft press release from the Division of Education, Research, and Technology concerning the matter but has not yet seen the official release.
TTUTA had anticipated receiving updates following a school visit scheduled for today but currently possesses no new information regarding the status of the repairs or the reopening. TTUTA is actively monitoring the operations at the school and has committed to sharing updates as they become available. As of now, the school is tentatively scheduled to reopen next Tuesday. The continued closure highlights the challenges in ensuring a safe and suitable learning environment for students and staff in Tobago.
