Verdine Williams, shared some do’s and don’ts for the Christmas season. One “do”, create a budget. She stated that in making a budget there are also areas that you may have to cut back on.
“Instead of buying 5 pounds of meat, or 5 pounds of fish, you might have to look at buying 3 and you might have to look at putting some peas with that in order to get the full amount of protein. The family get the full amount of protein.” Williams also advised consumers to make lists of the items they have budgeted for.
She also suggested for people to look beyond Christmas since January is a difficult time for people to navigate in terms of finances.
