Food Security Secretary Natisha Charles-Pantin encourages women in agriculture
Scarborough, Tobago – In commemoration of International Women’s Day, Assemblyman Natisha Charles-Pantin, Secretary for the Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development, shared a special message. She highlighted that Tobago’s women have played a pivotal role in shaping the island’s agricultural industry landscape.
Charles-Pantin expressed the division’s commitment to empowering stakeholders, fostering innovation, and championing sustainability in all their efforts. To further this commitment, the Women in Agriculture Programme was launched today at the Magdalena Grand Hotel. This initiative introduced women to a wide cross-section of opportunities and technical support available in various sectors of the agriculture industry.
The program aims to bolster the involvement of women in sustainable food production, recognizing their essential contributions to food security and economic development in Tobago.
