October 15, 2025- A team of Defence Force veterans is set to embark on a four-day walk around Tobago, honouring fallen and ailing comrades. The journey will begin at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15th, from Crown Point, and conclude on Saturday, October 18th.
The trek serves as a solemn tribute to the lives and service of those who dedicated themselves to defending Trinidad and Tobago, including Ancil Spicer, Rickie Nelson, Lester Jacob, Arthur George, Sharon Castanada, Mark St. John, Walter Wheeler, Zepherine Smith, Andy Mitchell, Franz Tyrell, Alistair Carrington, among others.
Veterans explained that the initiative not only commemorates the deceased but also acknowledges those currently facing illness or hardship. Along the route, participants will share stories, reflect on memories, and strengthen the bonds that unite members of the armed forces long after active duty.
Organizers said the walk is a powerful testament to courage, sacrifice, and enduring camaraderie, highlighting the pride and honour with which these men and women have served the nation.
