The Pentecostal Light and Life High School is not in a state of readiness for pupils to return to the classroom on Monday. The T&T Unified Teachers Association has expressed concerns over Tobago’s unfinished school renovations.
The move to the Office of Procurement Regulations repository, according to Secretary of Education, Research, and Technology Zorisha Hackett, carries the blame for the delays in the completion of refurbishing of schools. Unfinished school repairs, according to Hackett, are a problem not only in Tobago but across the country.
Despite structural damages, the Pentecostal Light and Life High School doors still reopened to welcome new and returning students. The school remains with a damaged roof and unhygienic working conditions, however classes did resume on the first day of the school term.
Sources at the school are raising concerns about the lack of work which should have been done during the July-August holidays.
