Trade union federations and a coalition of thirteen independent labour bodies across Trinidad and Tobago are formally seeking urgent dialogue and a comprehensive policy review with the Central Government and law enforcement authorities over the implementation of 15 designated no-protest exclusion zones.
The controversy follows emergency regulations issued under Legal Notice No. 40 of 2026, which prohibit public demonstrations, marches, and picketing within a 500-metre radius of key state institutions, transit hubs, and security installations across both islands—including the ANR Robinson International Airport in Tobago, Parliament at the Red House, and major port facilities.
