Chief Secretary welcomes Trinidadians to visit Tobago, except the gangsters
Scarborough, Tobago – August 9, 2024 – After receiving public backlash for issuing a stern warning to Trinidadian mobsters to refrain from visiting Tobago, Chief Secretary Farley Augustine has maintained his stance on criminal elements coming to the island. He said that law-abiding citizens of Trinidad and Tobago are free to explore the island but that criminals are not welcomed.
Augustine’s strong remarks highlight the Tobago House of Assembly’s (THA) firm position on public safety and crime prevention, seeking to distinguish between visitors who contribute positively to the island and those who may pose a threat. This stance is part of a broader effort to reassure residents and tourists of Tobago’s security.
