Scarborough, Tobago – August 9, 2024 – At a Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Media briefing yesterday (August 8, 2024), the Head of the Chamber of Commerce Tobago Chapter, Curtis Williams, who also represented the Tobago Hotel and Tourism Association, assured Tobagonians that although the island is experiencing a rise in crime, the tourism industry is doing well.
He spoke alongside Chief Secretary Farley Augustine and Assistant Commissioner of Police Collis Hazel, who also discussed the joint operations of the armed forces on the island. Williams’s statements aimed to provide reassurance and mitigate the potential negative impact of crime on Tobago’s tourism sector.
