Buccoo, Tobago – April 13, 2024 – Famously known for its signature dish, curry crab and dumpling, Tobago has officially debuted its first crab farm on the island. The farm is strategically located at the Buccoo Heritage Park, marking a significant step for local agriculture and food tourism.
To commemorate this occasion, a special ceremony was held, featuring speeches from key figures. Attendees included Cindyann Currency, Head of Operations at the Digicel T&T Foundation; Natisha Charles-Pantin, Secretary for the Division of Food Security, Natural Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development; and Minister of Sport and Community Development and MP for Tobago West, Shamfa Cudjoe-Lewis. This initiative is set to bolster Tobago’s food security and enhance its unique culinary offerings.
