During an exercise yesterday, officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force uncovered the island’s biggest drug bust. The authorities seized 238 kilograms of marijuana and 13 kilograms of cocaine. In addition, they discovered a Beretta M12 machine pistol, three Beretta M12 magazines, a Glock 17 pistol with a magazine, and a total of 167 rounds of assorted 9mm ammunition. Two men were arrested—one from Tobago and the other from Marabella, Trinidad. Senior Superintendent Earl Ellie noted that while the drugs were intercepted in Tobago, their final destination may not have been the island but another Caribbean nation.
