Tobagonians rocked their socks as the world celebrates Down Syndrome Day under this year’s theme, “End the stereotypes”

Scarborough, Tobago – March 21st, 2024 – In a vibrant and unified display of support, various organizations and departments across Tobago came together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by rocking their mismatched socks.

This year’s theme, “End the Stereotypes,” resonated strongly throughout the island as individuals from different sectors united to promote inclusivity and acceptance for persons with Down Syndrome. The “Lots of Socks” campaign, where participants wear colorful or odd socks, symbolizes the uniqueness of individuals with Down Syndrome and aims to spark conversations that challenge misconceptions.

The widespread participation in Tobago highlighted a collective commitment to fostering a more understanding and accepting society, emphasizing the capabilities and contributions of all its citizens.
