Tobago consults on HIV/AIDS national workplace legislation

Tobago’s stakeholders participate in national consultation of HIV/AIDS workplace policy.

Scarborough, Tobago – While medical advancements have significantly reduced the prevalence of individuals dying from HIV/AIDS, infected persons continue to face discrimination in the workplace. As a result, the Ministry of Labour is actively developing new legislation to govern HIV/AIDS in the workplace.

Tobago had the opportunity to contribute to the development of this crucial legislation today at the Magdalena Grand Hotel. This stakeholder engagement ensures that the unique perspectives and experiences of the island’s workforce are considered in the new policy, aiming to create a more inclusive and equitable work environment for all citizens.
