Trinidad and Tobago’s airports were decorated with clusters of stranded travellers this weekend. This was a direct result of failed wage negotiations with the airline which was the catalyst for rostered pilots and cabin crew members not assuming duty.
After the flight cancellations travellers , made their way to Scarborough Port. They stood in the heat for several hours, tired and bewildered , They were frustrated with communication from Caribbean Airlines Limited which they described as extremely poor.
While this fiasco posed a major issue for those who just wanted to arrive at their next destination , it posed a health risk to one family who came to Tobago with an 80 year old Renal Patient . This traveller went further to voice her dissatisfaction with the communication and media releases from CAL. When asked how accommodating the Airlines and Port Authority was in remedying this situation, this was her review. The Port Authority added on several sailings to accommodate the stranded passengers.
