Stand for Truth and Justice: Message to Muslims in Tobago for Eid al-Adha 2024
Muslims are encouraged to stand up for truth and justice even though they may be standing alone at they observe Eid-al-Adha.
Scarborough, Tobago – June 17, 2024 – As Muslims in Tobago gathered to observe Eid al-Adha, they were encouraged to stand up for truth and justice, even if it meant standing alone. This includes being careful of the music they listen to and the influencers they follow, promoting mindful engagement in society.
Eid al-Adha commemorates the Quranic story of Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail as an act of obedience to God. Before he could complete the sacrifice, God provided a ram as a substitute offering. In the Christian and Jewish versions of the story, Abraham is commanded to sacrifice his other son, Isaac. Here is a look at the messages shared as Muslims gathered at Masjids in Crown Point and Lowlands. The observances reinforce lessons of faith, sacrifice, and commitment to divine commands within the Muslim community in Tobago.
