Scarborough, Tobago – February 2024 – Over 20 key stakeholders in Tobago, including professionals from the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) and the Ministry of Works and Transport, along with NGOs and private engineering firms, recently participated in a crucial two-day Coastal Protection training facilitated by the THA.

The forum, aptly themed “The Green Infrastructure for Coastal Protection,” was led by esteemed professors from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Dr. Valeria Chavez and Dr. Rodolfo Silva. Its primary purpose was to expose industry stakeholders to environmentally friendly and blended strategies and solutions that can effectively address Tobago’s pressing coastal erosion challenges.

The training aimed to equip local professionals with innovative techniques to protect Tobago’s vulnerable coastlines and implement sustainable long-term solutions.
