SOLUTIONS PROPOSED FOR PIGEON POINT COASTAL CHALLENGES AT COASTAL PROTECTION TRAINING

The forum, themed “The Green Infrastructure for Coastal Protection” was facilitated by professors of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Dr. Valeria Chavez and Dr. Rodolfo Silva.

Over 20 stakeholders, comprising THA & Ministry of Works and Transport professionals, NGO and other private engineering firms settled down at a two-day Coastal Protection training conducted by THA last week.

The forum, themed “The Green Infrastructure for Coastal Protection” was facilitated by professors of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Dr. Valeria Chavez and Dr. Rodolfo Silva. It was purposed to expose industry stakeholders to environmentally friendly or blended strategies and solutions that can effectively address the coastal erosion challenges. Such a workshop is not timely but necessary, as the Assembly readies itself to tackle the growing challenges presented by coastal erosion in the South Western part of the island.
