UTP leader Nickocy Phillips discusses the nation’s healthcare system.
At the Standing Finance Committee on Monday, Minister of Finance Colm Imbert said the cost of healthcare has increased significantly over the last twenty years, with the Ministry of Health receiving a budget allocation of almost 500 billion dollars. Imbert said it was proving difficult to finance the health sector’s purchase of free pharmaceuticals and other free services. He noted that something must be done to decrease the cost. Political Leader of the Unity of the People, Nickocy Phillips, shared their thoughts on the matter.
