Senator Ancil Dennis criticizes U.N.C. during maiden contribution in the senate
Scarborough, Tobago – October 22, 2024 – Senator Ancil Dennis made his maiden contribution in the Senate today during the debate on the national appropriation bill for fiscal 2025. Dennis, a former Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Chief Secretary, took his oath as a senator on Monday, joining fellow government senator Laurence Hislop. He spent much of his speech criticizing the opposition for not supporting what he described as beneficial legislation and highlighting what he sees as poor governance.
His contribution to the budget debate provided a clear defense of the government’s policies and a strong counter-narrative to the opposition’s criticisms, underscoring the ongoing political divide in Trinidad and Tobago.
